Ways to Longevity, April 9-11, 2027

Longevity in Daoism is a function of vital energy or qi, notably the smoothness and harmony of its flow. Various methods serve to enhance this, creating a stronger level of health, a greater sense of well-being, and an extension of youthful living. After arrival on Friday afternoon, check-in, and a light dinner, we begin with an introductory discussion of the different modes and types of longevity practices .

On Saturday, we focus on opening the energy flow by learning about and engaging in breathing practices, healing exercises, and internal qi-guiding. In the evening, we look at Daoist dietetics and study the effect of food on our energy system. On Sunday, we learn about keeping relationships clear and supportive, then examine the impact of our physical environment as we look at the power of Fengshui. Last, but not least, in the early afternoon, we study the power of time and ways to find and exploit most auspicious opportunities in life, connecting to the greater universe by engaging with the potentialities of heaven and earth.

In each case, sessions last about 90 minutes, followed by a 15 minute break. During the first part, the topic in question is explained in a PowerPoint presentation; in the second part, we engage in practical exercises.
